Making cool kids even cooler since 1984

Identical software replica of the iconic Roland JUNO-106 synthesizer.

Features

Possibly the most popular vintage synth with EDM producers and electronic musicians worldwide, the Roland JUNO-106 became legendary for its unique combination of incredible Roland analog sound, simple and efficient interface, connectivity as one of the world's first MIDI instruments, and relative affordability. More than a simulation, the ACB-powered Roland JUNO-106 PLUG OUT Synthesizer is a complete component-level recreation of the original 6-voice instrument, all the way down to the classic Roland 80017A VCF/VCA integrated circuit! And while hardware JUNO-106 synths disappear as quickly as they are offered for sale in collector's circles, the Roland JUNO-106 PLUG OUT is available to members now on Roland Cloud!
  • Perfect "ACB" recreation of original legendary Roland JUNO-106 Synthesizer
  • Up to 8 voices polyphony (based on computer power, 6 voices set as default mode as per original hardware design)
  • Full hardware control of all functions available by USB connection to Roland SYSTEM-8 Synthesizer
  • Serves as computer-based editor for JUNO-106 PLUG OUT (pre-loaded in Roland SYSTEM-8 Synthesizer)
  • VST and AU compatible

Refreshing Simplicity

As synthesizers grew in complexity, the mid 1980's began to see many musicians asking for great sounds combined with easier programming. Just as on the original hardware, the ACB-powered Roland JUNO-106 Software Synthesizer delivers on both fronts! The famous sound of JUNO is present in all it's glory (including the legendary Sub Oscillator and classic Chorus effect!), while the clear and simple sound-shaping controls invite your originality. Of course, our engineers could not stop at recreating the past, and have added some asked-for new features to the LFO, VCF, VCA, and Effects sections while remaining faithful to the original concept (and they may have included an Arpeggiator, too!).

PLUG OUT to the Roland SYSTEM-8

Taking your creative experience to the next level, Roland's innovative PLUG OUT functionality used in combination with the powerhouse AIRA SYSTEM-8 hardware synthesizer opens up a world of new possibilities. USB-connect the SYSTEM-8 hardware to your computer and enjoy inspiring one-knob-per-function sound-shaping and performance control of the JUNO-106 soft-synth running in your DAW (the SYSTEM-8 can also serve as a high resolution AUDIO and MIDI Interface for your computer!). When it's time to perform, PLUG OUT transfers the JUNO-106 synth and all your settings to the SYSTEM-8 hardware- Roland reliablity and no computer needed!

1. Although Roland has tested numerous configurations and has determined that on average, a computer system similar to that described above will permit normal operation of the PLUG-OUT SOFTWARE SYNTHESIZER, Roland cannot guarantee that a given computer can be used satisfactorily with the PLUG-OUT SOFTWARE SYNTHESIZER based solely on the fact that it meets the above requirements. This is because there are too many other variables that may influence the processing environment, including differences in motherboard design and the particular combination of other devices involved.

2. This Software Synthesizer cannot be plugged-out to SYSTEM-1 or SYSTEM-1m hardware.
If the JUNO-106 is already plugged-out to one of the plug-out destinations of SYSTEM-8 hardware, you cannot plug-out a new instance.

A SYSTEM-8 Hardware synthesizer is not required to use this instrument in your DAW, but is required for this software synthesizer to plug-out to a hardware synthesizer.
