As part of our ongoing efforts to improve performance, stability, and compatibility across modern Digital Audio Workstations, Roland Cloud will begin phasing out the VST2 plugin format this month. In the immediate future, our software instruments and effects will be available as VST3, AU, and AAX formats. VST3 plugins are more efficient, reliable, and future-proof. Customers may choose to keep their VST2 instruments; however, Roland Cloud will no longer support the format. Furthermore, updating instruments in Roland Cloud Manager will remove unsupported versions.

What this means for you:

  • VST3 support across all Roland Cloud plugins.
  • Your existing projects that use VST3 will continue to work as expected.
  • If you currently rely on VST2, we recommend transitioning your projects to VST3 to ensure the best experience moving forward.

This change enables us to align our development efforts with modern standards while delivering continued enhancements and streamlined features to our products. If you have any questions or need help migrating to VST3, please get in touch with Customer Service or check out our Knowledge Base. Thank you for being part of the Roland Cloud community.
